How SLP Neuro Care can help patients develop a plan to improve in the areas they want to focus on

speech language pathology Jan 25, 2023

  • Identifying areas for growth: identify areas of weakness, such as specific voice, speech or language disorders, and set goals to improve in those areas.
  • Setting goals: work with the patient to set specific, measurable, and achievable goals for treatment, such as improving reasoning skills or word finding skills.
  • Breaking down problems: break down larger communication disorders into smaller, manageable parts to make them more manageable and easier to work on; build on them to make the long term goals attainable.
  • Examining mindsets: work with the patient to identify any limiting beliefs or mindsets that may be holding them back and work on shifting them.
  • Assessing habits and routines: assess the patient's current communication habits and routines and identify which ones are serving them well and which ones may be holding them back.
  • Improving relationships: work with the patient to improve their communication in different settings, such as work or social situations.
  • Developing self-regulation skills: teach the patient techniques for self-regulation to improve focus and intention in initiating, control and reflection of behavior or task.
  • Reviewing: work with the patient to review their progress against intended outcome regularly and make adjustments as needed.
